Claus Christiansen

Claus Christiansen is the founder of Nordic Bioscience and the Danish Research Foundation. He earned his medical degree in 1971 from University of Copenhagen – the same year that he published his first peer-reviewed paper. His work has changed the field of osteoporosis and he has been instrumental in creating a scientific cross-disciplinary environment for PhDs with an interest in the life science industry. His research is published in high-ranking journals, and has an H factor above 140. With a long scientific background in bone diseases, Dr. Claus Christiansen cofounded Osteometer A/S in 1989, a company that developed and manufactured medical devices for measuring bone mineral density. In 1991, the company expanded to include a laboratory division for the development of biochemical markers, which later became Nordic Bioscience A/S, and has grown to be a partner to some of the largest drug developers in the world.
